Interviews
Since 2011, the Museum “Jews in Latvia” has been organizing ethnographic and folklore field research. Jewish memories of traditional life in the small towns of Latgale in eastern Latvia before the Second World War, as well as non-Jewish memories and stereotypes about Jews are recorded. People born in the 1920s and 1930s and living in Latgale were mainly chosen as the narrators. Several hundred interviews were recorded with non-Jews in Latvian, Latgalian and Russian, with Jews in Russian and Latvian, as well as in Yiddish.
