On the first cover in a diamond ornament is an inscription in Hebrew: “Gift of the son of Eliezer Shlomo, honorable man’s teacher, to the Great Synagogue Society in support of the Torah, in memory of the soul of his wife, Mrs. Sarah, the blessed daughter of Shlomo.” 1877
The book bears the seal of the board of the Riga Great Synagogue.
